Sophia's First Day at Spanish Schoolhouse

Today was Sophia's first day of school at the Spanish Schoolhouse in Arlington.  SSH is a Spanish immersion preschool that Dan and I have been considering for a while.  We have some other friends that send their children there and have always had great things to say about it.  Their five year old has been there full-time (M-F from 8-5pm) for almost three years and totally fluent in Spanish.

We started Sophia with only two half days (9am-12pm) because she is still at Fielder road one half day a week.  Eventually (probably next school year) she will only be going to SSH on T/Th from 9-2pm.  We don't really expect her to become fluent from just going part-time, but we are amazed at how much her Spanish vocabulary has increased in just a few weeks.

They wear these cute little uniforms at SSH and I could not wait to get Sophia's picture this morning.  Well, as soon as we walked outside we were greeted with 30 mph hour winds and a temperature of about 50 degrees.  Burrrrrrrr!  Even though she was freezing, S was such a trooper.  You can tell by her hair just how strong the winds were.  I think we will try for uniform pics again when the weather is a little more agreeable :-)
