We met our sweet princess Sophia for the first time today. She is absolutely perfect in every way and we can't stop staring at her. She is long and lean like Dan and has a head full of black hair like I did as a newborn. One of the first things we said to each other when we saw her was that she had my nose and Dan's lips. She is such a precious blessing from God. We are beyond thrilled to be her parents!
This is the e-mail that Dan sent to family and friends the day Sophia was born:
Venus and I are proud to announce the arrival of our daughter, Sophia Lenz Belcher, at 6:33 p.m. on Friday, September 26. Sophia weighed 7 lbs 5 ounces and measured 19.5" long. Venus is doing great and recovering from her C-section. She and Sophia will be checking out of the hospital tomorrow (Tuesday). Venus will update the blog with countless pictures next week. As you will see, Sophia looks much more like her Mom than her Dad...thank God!

HOORAY! She is here!!!! I wasn't sure when the best time was to call...I wanted you to have plenty of time to recover and you never know those first few weeks when mama and baby are sleeping!
