Amarillo by morning...

Every year Dan plays in the Coor's Light Invitational golf tournament in Amarillo.  Usually, he goes by himself and enjoys some 'guy time' with his friends from high school. This year Sophia and I decided to join him, and it urned out to be a really fun, relaxing weekend.  We did lots of playing, swimming, eating and napping, which Mommy is always happy with :-)
The golf tournament was Friday-Sunday so Dan drove up Thursday night and then S and I flew in Friday afternoon.  While the guys were golfing, all the Mom's hung out and let the kids play together.  There were around 8-10 kids most of the time so Sophia was LOVING it!  I love how much she loves people, especially other kiddos.  Every time she meets a new kid they are automatically her 'best friend'.  It's pretty sweet.  Most of the time she doesn't even know their name she just calls them her best friend.  Haha! When it is time for us to leave, she insists on giving them the proper goodbye (i.e. a kisses and a hugs).   The germs from the random kids do make me a little nervous, but I've seen what happens if she doesn't get to tell them goodbye and it is NOT pretty.  Trust me.
Anyway, we had a great time and may just make it an annual trip! ;-)

S and I having a lazy morning at the hotel

Having a little pool time with her new "best friends"

This was just too cute of Libby eating her pizza

They had a really cool two-story tree house that Sophia loved playing in

Enjoying some after dinner pringles with Daddy

Giving Sarah hugs and kisses

Love this sweet girl :-)

Sweet sisters

On Sunday evening we went to the golf course around the time Dan and his tournament partner, Matt, were supposed to be finished.  While we were waiting on them we walked across the street (yes, this is definitely West Texas) because Sophia wanted to look for flowers.

And she found one.  That was actually more than I thought she would find.

This is what Sophia thought of the wind there (and I totally agree)...

So then we went back to the golf course and settled for picking dandelions.

This is when she spotted her Daddy walking over...

Dan and Matt were beyond happy because they WON their flight of the tournament!  (Their names/scores are the fourth on the list.)

It was so funny to see them so excited...  almost giddy :-)

So funny how they were talking through their last round shot by shot.  Oh, boys will be boys :-)

They wanted to hang out for a while after the tournament was over.  I think they we just enjoying celebrating their victory :-)

Of course, Dan and Sophia had to practice throwing since we were outside

Can you tell how excited he is?!

Love this guy!

S decided to be the 'official greeter' while we were hanging out after the tournament.

She greeted each golfer with a dandelion.

And then she moved on to 'turf management'.   All without shoes of course.

While we were there we enjoyed some delicious Taco Villa and Donut Stop, two of Dan's favorites.  It was Sophia's first time at both, and unfortunately I only had my iPhone to take pics with...

She loved the donut with sprinkles!  It tastes even better in your pajamas :-)

And of course Dan loved the Taco Villa!

We ended up staying until Monday morning so we enjoyed Donut Stop on the way out of town also.

This time she got donut holes which just happens to be Mommy's favorite!

After we said good-bye to Amarillo we saw a lot of this for the next 5 hours...

When we get home from West Texas I'm always SO excited to see trees.  Haha ;-)
