Howie the Turtle

One evening right before bed, Dan spotted a turtle by the pond and wanted to show Sophia.  She was thrilled because most of the turtles we see are quite a bit smaller.  She tried to convince us that he was sooooo lonely and needed to spend the night with us and he could find his family in the morning.  So we said that was fine (knowing he would escape under the fence and onto the golf course).

Well, what do you know... that big ole guy couldn't fit under the fence so he was still there in the morning.  So naturally we tatooed his name on his back (S named him :-) ) and then released him back at a different pond.  Sophia insisted it was 'safer' for him (the pond behind us is safer than the one near the neighborhood entrance road).

You can't really tell, but he was really big!  And super fast :-) I wonder if we will ever see him again...
