Healthy Baby Girl!

We are happy to announce that we have a healthy baby girl again!

After a 5-week long battle with a double-ear infection, Sophia had tubes put in her cute little ears. It was a relatively quick and easy process. We met with the ENT doctor on Wednesday for a consultation. After reviewing her chart from the pediatrician and examining her ears, he said that tubes should be our next step. He told us that normally they don't put tubes in until the child has had persistent ear infections for more than three months. But since the bacterial infection in Sophia's ears had not responded to any of the five antibiotic treatments, this was definitely an exception. They did a hearing test and she had 5% hearing in her left ear and no hearing at all in her right ear. Poor baby! They scheduled her for surgery that Friday at 7:30am.

The surgery was about 15 minutes long and went very well. She came out of anethesia and was fussy for a couple minutes. She took a five-hour nap when we got home and when she woke up she was totally back to normal! Praise the Lord! She is back to sleeping well and now she is even eating like a normal toddler. Basically, everything (and I mean everything) we have offered her she has inhaled immediately! Her ears must have made chewing and swallowing so painful that she had just stopped all together. We are so thankful to have a healthy baby again!

You can probably tell by the pictures that our little girl is feeling SO much better! Yay!!
