Sophia has been taking a tap and ballet class at United Performing Arts since September, and this weekend was their first 'big' dance recital. They had a ballet performance in October that was absolutely adorable, but they wore their normal dance clothes so it wasn't even close to the production of the big 'recital'.
It makes me tired just thinking the week leading up to the recital... it was absolutely crazy! Super fun but incredibly busy with many dress rehearsals, learning the Daddy-Daughter dance, putting finishing touches on the costumes, and then of course school and dance class. Whew! It was a lot. Not to mention the I had to put make-up on Sophia for the first time. All the girls were required to wear make-up and their hair a certain way (which I was not a huge fan of the make-up but it ended up really helping see their faces with the bright lights on stage).
Their dance was to "Mary had a Little Lamb", and their costumes were the sweetest little lamb outfits I've ever seen. Sophia did amazing and danced her little heart out! Her class is the youngest at United and the teachers and owner said that it was the best performance they have ever had for the 2 year old class. We were all so proud of them!
The Daddy-Daughter dance was the last dance of the night and it was AMAZING! They had been practicing in private all week so the whole thing was a surprise for the audience. It was so precious and I even cried some happy tears. Just too sweet! It was such an amazing night and we couldn't have been more proud of our sweet Sophia!
I took a video of the whole thing so I left my camera at home. I am so thankful that Melanie and Lauren sent me some great pictures!
