We went to Scottsdale, AZ during the first half of Sophia's Spring Break. Since I'm over 32 weeks pregnant we are planning on this being our last trip as a family of three. The Holtman family also went with us and we all had a great time!
We usually visit the Phoenix area once a year because it has amazing weather, especially in the early, early spring. Dan loves it because it just happens to be perfect for golfing :-) One of my best friends, Katie, and her family live there too and I love being able to visit them. We stayed at the Hyatt Gainey Ranch which is totally geared toward families with young kids.
How cute is this sweet face?
After breakfast and before we headed to the pool, we stopped off to feed the ducks, fish and turtles. It surprised us how aggressive the fish were. They totally intimidated the ducks and took all the food.
So the smartest ducks got out of the water and came to the food source. Haha!
One morning the Corey and Dan took the kids on a bike ride so the Jena and I could relax by the pool. Sophia and Harlan had a blast and looked super cute in their little helmets!
The crazy part of this story was that when Dan and Sophia were all ready to go he noticed that one of the trailer wheels looked a little crooked. Upon further inspection we realized that the wheel wasn't even locked into place! What?! He could literally slip it on and off of the axle. I'm so glad he checked before he took off riding!
One of the pools had a beach entry complete with sand and palm trees.
Sophia looooves playing in the sand and building sand castles
So we spent a lot of time at this pool...
and we also did a lot (and I mean a lot!) of swimming in the other pools :-)
It was really cool that part of the pool had a sand bottom and the other part was a normal pool. Can you see where the water turns blue? There were tiny little holes in the floor so that the sand couldn't move past that area. Such a great idea!
Dan went golfing and S and I had just returned from the pool. After she showered (no bathtub, but a huge shower) I started a show for her and I went to shower. When I came back I found her lounging and having a snack. She just looked so grown up and mature that I had to take a picture :-)
The only picture of her in this adorable outfit was super grainy, but still cute :-)
Sophia really, really loves Harlan. I'm pretty sure she thinks he is her brother :-) They had such a great time on the trip together!
Katie and Shane invited us to their neighborhood party one afternoon and it did not disappoint. It was complete with a bounce house, pony rides, petting zoo and a live band. I'm not sure which one S loved more...
She loved petting all the farm animals :-)

She loved the bounce house 'farm animals' too...
Then there was the live music and dancing...
which was a huge hit of course!
She loves dancing and definitely showed off some of her ballet moves :-)
There were many songs that Sophia was the lone dancer, not that she ever noticed :-) The band members did and they actually gave her a couple 'shout outs' between songs. I'm pretty sure they thought she was a groupie. Lol! (Yes, that's how you spell it. I googled it. Haha!)
Daddy joined her for a little Daddy/Daughter dancing...
I have no idea where she learned this move. Haha!
The pony rides were super fun too!
It was her first time on a horse and she loved it!
She did not want Daddy to hold on to her...
so he held on behind her just in case :-)
It was the first time for Sophia to meet Katie and Shane's twins, Hunter and Cooper. She was really sweet and gentle with them, which made us even more excited to see her with baby brother.
How sweet is this picture of Hunter and his Mommy?!
Someday I'll get around to editing these next four pics :-)

Love this one of Cooper and Shane too!
Love this girl :-)
After the party we had three tired little munchkins. So, we said our goodbyes and headed back to the hotel.
It was such a fun trip for everyone and I can't wait to see our sweet friends again!
