Thanksgiving Fun {November 2013}

We spent Thanksgiving this year in Duncan.  Since Grandma Mildred and Grandpa Frank moved to Duncan we celebrate holidays there instead of Dill City.  I miss their house (and I know they do too) for many sentimental reasons.  That is where they raised their kids and that where we celebrated every holiday for my entire life. I learned to swim in their pool, enjoyed many delicious coke floats, had slumber party with my cousins and spent countless hours in my Grandma's craft room.  Not to mention both of my Dad's sisters got married in the back yard. So it is a very special place for our family.

Grandma and Grandpa's move to Duncan really is a good thing despite the emotional toll it has taken on everyone, mainly my Grandma, my Dad and his siblings.  Now Gma and Gpa are closer to their doctors and that's very important especially right now.  Grandpa Frank's heath is declining rapidly and I'm sure hospice (for pain management) will be called in the next couple months.  His body is completely full of bone cancer and he is beginning to feel uncomfortable.  We have been spending as much time as possible with him and Grandma the last couple years because we knew this days was coming.  He has had a long, full, wonderful life, but it is still sad to know you are going to lose someone you love.

We are so thankful that we get one more Thanksgiving with the one's we love. We are so thankful for our large, loving extended families. And we are definitely thankful for these little turkeys! :-)
