This morning we were doing the usual, relaxing under the cabana and enjoying the gorgeous weather, when Dan spotted a family of dolphins swimming close to the beach. There were probably 10-15 of them and they were swimming around as if they wanted to entertain us. The show went on for at least three or four minutes. I probably had to time to run to the house and grab my camera, but I was too busy watching how effortlessly they were gliding in and out of the water. It was amazing to see that many dolphins so close to us and for that amount of time.
I don't think Sophia fully understood the how rare and special that sighting was. As soon as we pointed out the dolphins, she started saying, "Look at the river dolphins!", and asking, "Where are Dora and Diego?" Apparently the only dolphins she knows about are on the river dolphin episode of Diego. Maybe we should think about limiting her TV time. Haha!
