We're here!

After a very long day of travel we arrived at the beach house in Duck, NC!  This was our first vacation to the Outer Banks (OBX) of North Carolina and it was just as beautiful as we had imagined.  My very favorite author, Nicholas Sparks, writes the most amazing books and many of them are based around the OBX area.
Dan and I had both mentally prepared ourselves for Sophia turning into somewhat of a train wreck on a flight.  She has done great flying in the past, but has never flown more that two hours.  And never during nap time.  And never in big girl panties.  I know... what were we thinking?! Well, in typical Sophia fashion, she surprised us and did AMAZING on the flight!  The child only left her seat one time and it was because she told us she needed to go potty.  Not joking.  We were so proud of our little angel and I'm pretty sure the other passengers around us were quite relieved.  Toddler meltdowns are not fun and definitely not discreet. Haha ;-)
Once we arrived, we got our bags and picked up our rental car, which took almost an hour.  Sophia didn't mind it at all because she was able to walk around and explore the airport.  Once we left the airport  it took us about 2.5 hours to get to the beach house.  We were exhausted by the time we got there, but so thankful to be finished traveling. Ryan and Rachel had already put little L to asleep, so we put Sophia down and then started catching up with our friends.  Every time we see them it's as if no time has passed at all.  So fun!
This video was take right after we picked up the rental car.  I'm pretty sure Sophia was delirious by this point because we have never seen these moves before!  ;-)
