Our Purple Butterfly

Several months ago I asked Sophia what she wanted to be for Halloween and she promptly answered, "A purple butterfly."   It made sense because purple was her new her favorite color and she loves anything girly.  I waited to start looking in case she changed her mind, but she obviously had her heart set on that costume.  I ended up finding the sweetest purple (aka eggplant) tutu dress and wings on Etsy.  When it came in the mail, I let Sophia open the package and she was so excited!  She wanted to try it on immediately and then wore it until bath time.  This may be one of favorite costumes ever.  I absolutely love this color on her and she just looks so sweet in the tutu dress :-)

She LOVED wearing this costume...

She kept saying she felt like a butterfly princess...

which she is :-)

First we read a little about her species...

and then we were off for a nature walk...

Doing some 'magic' with her wand...

Can you see her shoes?  Oh yes, those are tap shoes.  I totally forgot to put shoes on her, but luckily we had her dance bag in the car so she didn't have to go shoeless.  I wish I could say that this was our first 'shoeless outing', but it's not.  Remember this? So today was yet another 'Mom of the Year' move on my part :-)

Collecting some leaves and rocks...

Then she befriended a twisted tree.  She actually really liked it and asked if we could plant one in our yard.  So funny :-)

Our little tree hugger.  Sadly, her Daddy does not find humor in this title :-)

Love this face...

She was playing peek-a-boo with me behind this wooden post.  Such a fun time with my girl :-)

Looove those little feet!

These were a few of our favorites that I finally got around to editing...

Blowing kisses to the real butterfly...

Sweet girl...

We had such a fun morning walking around and exploring the park.  S was such a trooper despite the uncomfortable shoes and she even gave me some sweet, sweet smiles.  Oh, how I love this girl :-)
